How GrubNmore Lunch Box Works: Everything Before You Subscribe

GrubNmore Team • 6 min read
A GrubNmore Lunch Box delivery opened to reveal a complete weekday meal, rice, protein and a side

If you've ever stood in front of your desk at 1pm wondering what to eat — again — GrubNmore Lunch Box exists to make that decision disappear. Here's exactly how it works, with nothing glossed over.

The Two Plans

GrubNmore Lunch Box runs two ways to subscribe:

Both plans give you a real, named dish each weekday, not a mystery box. Every day has two options — Option A and Option B — so you're never stuck with something you don't want.

What You're Actually Getting Each Day

This isn't a rotating "chef's choice." The weekly menu is fixed and visible before you sign up: things like jollof rice with peppered chicken and plantain, egusi soup with eba, jollof spaghetti, and a Friday signature dish — real Nigerian lunches, not a continental sandwich plate dressed up for an office crowd.

Where It Delivers

Lunch Box currently delivers to six real zones: Ikoyi, Victoria Island, Lekki Phase 1, Lekki Phase 2, Ajah, and Chevron. In practice, that means:

If you're outside these six areas, it's worth checking back — the zone has already expanded once as the Lunch Box Insiders program grew, and it may again. GrubNmore's other product, Instant Meal, already reaches a wider stretch of Lagos, including Oniru, Ikate, VGC, Agungi, Igbo-Efon, Ologolo, and Jakande/Osapa London — see the delivery areas page for the full list.

How Signup Actually Works

This is the part most competitors don't explain clearly, so here it is plainly: you fill out a short form on lunchbox.grubnmore.com choosing your plan and your weekday meal preferences. On submit, that turns into a pre-filled WhatsApp message to GrubNmore's team, who confirm your subscription, delivery details, and payment arrangement directly with you. There's no app to download and no account to create — WhatsApp is the entire backend, deliberately, so nothing about ordering lunch feels more complicated than it needs to.

What a Typical Week Looks Like

Is It Actually Cheaper Than the Alternative?

Short answer: often, yes — see the full cost breakdown in "Is a Lunch Subscription Plan Actually Worth It in Lagos?" and the real numbers in "How Much Should You Really Spend on Lunch Per Week?"

FAQ

Can I change my meal choice mid-week?

Meal preferences are set at signup for the week/month ahead — reach out on WhatsApp if your plans change and the team will do what they reasonably can, but it isn't a build-it-fresh-daily system the way Instant Meal is.

What happens if I'm not in the delivery zone?

Lunch Box currently only delivers to Ikoyi, VI, Lekki Phase 1 & 2, Ajah, and Chevron. Outside that, GrubNmore's other product, Instant Meal, covers a wider zone — worth checking the delivery areas page.

Is payment handled on the website?

No — GrubNmore's checkout across all three products is currently a WhatsApp handoff, not on-site payment. You confirm your plan and payment arrangement directly with a real person on WhatsApp after signing up.

What if I miss a delivery day?

It's credited, not lost — you don't pay for a lunch you didn't receive.
